labcatsI'm not sure if I'm getting the idea of Push and Pull down, or if this is something else. I know that Judd discussed it on The Forge in this thread.
If I create a PC with a Nemesis, I am not doing it for the points, if any (well, not just the points). I am saying, "Please introduce my nemesis, and mess with my PC that way."
When I create a psychic, I almost invariably create an empath. When I do this, I am saying, "Please mess with my character's head. Pretty please?"
The key is to make clear what I want without answering my own question -- without trying to mandate the GM's response.
After all, some people never want their nemesis to get the upper hand. Some people make empaths to mess with other characters' heads. We're all signifying something, but it's not always the same something even when we're using the same parts.
