[identity profile] drcpunk.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] labcats
Saturday, I went to [livejournal.com profile] judd_sonofbert's 1st Quest game, Warlock Corner. This was an interest game, full of things that, under other circumstances, I might have wanted toned down, but for this kind of convention run, I wanted to see how they worked.

As the game progressed, I had a growing suspicion that I was catching [livejournal.com profile] mnemex's cold, which he'd mostly fought off. I had a couple of tylenol, and made Houses of the Blooded at 2 pm. I'm not sure that 4 players wouldn't have been better than 6, and I think we needed a couple of minutes at the beginning of the game to absorb the information on our character sheets. But it was fun, although everyone agreed that, as I was zonking out during the game, dropping the 8 pm game would be a Really good idea.

I dropped that and my 9 am Sunday game, and slept fitfully, waking up every couple of hours. I made the 2 pm game of Annalise, which was quite enjoyable, and broke the rules, both of how con games should theoretically be run and how endgame goes (or at least, it probably did -- we weren't sure of the rules, and it was getting late, so we faked it).

We just missed the 6:27 train to NYC. At 6:50, the lady in the station told us she was really sorry, but she had to lock up and make us wait on the platform. From 6:50 to 7:27, in the cold, with my nose running like a faucet. And it isn't her I have a beef with, as I suspect she could get in real trouble for breaking The Rules, and in this economy, jobs are not things to risk lightly. But, I'm not pleased with NJT making me stand out in the cold for nearly 40 minutes when I was sick.
