Survived Weekend Larp
As planned,
mnemex and I helped
zrealm run Masks. mnemex loved this and wants to do it again. I guess I must have enjoyed it, as I did not say, "No, no, dear God, no!", but rather, "Hm, we've got the resources, but we may want them for other things. We'll need to review this."
We learned a lot, and I was assured that, while I need to be more independent, I was not a drag on the game. I now understand on a visceral level why the answer to "Can I do X thing to circumvent what other players are planning?" has to be "Only if the rules permit" in a 50 person weekend long larp.
I'm very fond of the larp. The characters fit together in very interesting ways. I'm also seeing how certain things that fit character goals also help pace the game.
I see why color coding index cards is useful and why, even if a PC would have a Honking Big Bible, giving the player a tiny, palm sized bible is much better -- the player has to carry this around all weekend, while carrying around the entire character pack.
