Anyone remember if I get all allergic for Dreamation? I can't recall, but this past DexCon and the one before, my nose and eyes were running nigh nonstop.

Games I played in:

Bliss Stage -- I have only one quote written down, really terrifying in context. Tony's teenage mother says to her two year old son, "Yes, bad dreams. But, you'll learn to fight them."

Don't Rest Your Head: Crossroad Blues -- Lots of fun.

Fae Noir: Vote Early, Vote Coffin -- Good and solid, and I picked up the game.

Mortal Coil: The End of History -- Didn't quite click, but an interesting session, and we were all able to deal with the lack of clickiness, I think. Where Don't Rest Your Head and Ganakagok seem nigh perfect for the one session convention run, Mortal Coil can be a heck of a challenge under those conditions.

[livejournal.com profile] imogena told me that her Tangled Fate games went well.

My Saturday night game was canceled, and that may have been just as well, as that's when the sinuses hit their worst. I tried a shower and a bath which had two good effects: A lack of pain for about five minutes, and, hey, shower! Cleanliness. Then, I ran into Rob, who was going to a panel. So, I made my first ever panel at a gaming convention. That was fun. I see that the same principle applies to gaming panels as to sf panels -- forget what the topic is supposed to be. Who's on the panel? That's your surest guide to whether you'll enjoy it.

Sunday, I was too under the weather with the sinuses to want to do Polaris. Ben assured me that he was hoping to be able to get home early. This continues my tradition of near misses with playing Polaris at a convention. Some day.

A bunch of us headed out around 5:30 or so, and decided to eat in my neck of the woods, and then head back to [livejournal.com profile] mnemex and my place for some Feng Shui. But, [livejournal.com profile] ebartley was atypically too tired for that, so she and the others headed home, and mnemex fell asleep almost as soon as we got home, as, unlike me, he didn't spend a lot of time resting at the convention. (Well, I was up later on Friday, what with the midnight slot, but he was up later on Saturday and woke up much earlier on Sunday.)

Oh, and we got Start of Darkness. Wicked, evil, fun.

Allergic? Frank, I thought you were dying. And it was a shame about the Mortal Coil game, but I'll chalk it up as a learning experience. I have to say, I enjoyed the hell out of Manifest Destiny.
