So, I did a lot of shopping by proxy at Origins, and I now have a bunch of stuff that needs to go to Chris Murray in Canada, and a smaller bunch of stuff that needs to go to [livejournal.com profile] mylescorcoran in Ireland. If anyone's going to be anywhere I am and then either in Cork or Kingston, let me know. I'm always willing to use Mongol Pony Express.

For myself, I got a lot of discounted stuff and a bunch of indie games. I've finished reading Intergalactic Cooking Challenge which was exactly what I thought it would be, and much fun. The only problem I have is that there is not explanation of what having a skill higher than one does for you. Certain skills have descriptions indicating what higher rankings do for those particular skills, but most do not. I should email the author and ask if I blipped over a sentence somewhere.

I also got myself a few dvds of Lovecraftian films, especially The Yellow Sign, which I'd been promising myself since I saw the film at LACon IV. I also picked up Beyond the Wall of Sleep and Pickman's Model.

I managed to resist clothing and amber this time around. I was, however, forced, forced, I say, to buy the new GURPS Biotech. See, everyone in Todd Furler's Unknown Armies games got a voucher for 50% off one purchase made at this year's Origins, from the SJG / Atlas booth.
