$)#&* GenCon Indy Hotels
Sigh. We have a hotel room for GenCon Indy, but totally no thanks to the system in place. Wasn't the idea that Indy had more than enough space and to spare?

In 2005, we made the decision to attend GenCon fairly late. Booked in July, I think. We got the Hyatt Regency. Now, we had to pay substantially more, but the room was available. This means that the convention didn't lock down all of the rooms in that hotel.
Same thing this year. When everything filled in the first ten minutes to an hour, everything close, I mean, we used other channels. We didn't do the Hyatt Regency this year, but we could have, just at a higher price than the higher price we're currently paying.
I don't know how these things work for conventions. Maybe the hotels won't let them book more than a certain number of rooms.

Assuming canceling your current reservation won't be a problem, you might want to try again later.
