DexCon in Progress
Jul. 20th, 2008 01:08 amThis is the first time I've shown up on Thursday. Thursday night, my allergies to the hotel acted up, but since then, it hasn't been as bad. Now, if hotel staff can keep doing whatever they're doing, and maybe a bit more, I can breath easily.
Thursday night,
daftnewt and I played d20 Mafia, West Coast campaign. This was a short adventure, but a lot of fun.
Friday, I played in Oscar Rios's Second Saga, a Viking Call of Cthulhu game. We were mighty warriors fighting mighty demons, but the foes that dealt us the most damage were our fellow Vikings.
Then, I played in Scion: Hero. This was fun, though I am glad that only 6 players showed up, not the full 8. With 6, things were chaotic, but the gm steered well, keeping us on track. I'm not sure that would have been possible with 8.
I played in John Farish's Don't Rest Your Head Scenario, lucking into the PC who actually needed to make a moral decision.
Saturday, I woke up with a fatigue hangover, but managed to recover via water and soy butter. I played in
imogena's Tangled Fates, which we agreed is in the almost done stage.
Next was Mortal Harvest, a second Call of Cthulhu scenario by Oscar Rios, this one set in Roman Britain. We managed to pull off a really good tactical plan, aided by luck where it was most needed.
Then, I played in Scott Lesher's Sorcerer game, with 6 players, half playing sorcerers and half demons. I think the idea was good, but the game should have been capped at 4, at least in a four hour slot. We had fun, and hastily scripted a conclusion when midnight rolled around.
Tomorrow, I have the third of Oscar Rios's Call of Cthulhu adventures, Halloween Candy.
