T-15 to when Straightjackets Optional runs Ghost Fu at Intercon H.

We are already discussing options for what to run next year.

I have my character hint for 2 games, and my character for 2 more. The "hint" for one of the games is longer than many characters I've received.

Meanwhile, I told [livejournal.com profile] mnemex about my inability to do more than stare at the sense spreadsheet for Dark of the Moon until my eyes glazed over.

I've got all of these characters listed, and all of these columns for what can be seen, heard, tasted, smelled, researched, or otherwise sensed about the characters, with multiple levels for each sense. And I can't figure out what to put in the boxes.

mnemex told me to do it differently -- add a column, and in it, put everything that might be sensed for each character. Then, we can tag each item and figure out where it goes.

This makes so much more sense. It also makes me realize that I'll need to add every in game item to the spreadsheet.

Not all items or people have all of the boxes filled in. And each player has, I think, two levels of senses. Well, three if you count the "0" level senses.

That is, let's say I have 15 boxes of various senses. You as a player don't need to worry about all of that. You have three levels of senses:

1. What you sense when you first meet someone. Ideally, we'd like that to be clear visually to you as soon as you see the person, or, at worst, read the person's badge, but [livejournal.com profile] zrealm warns us against overcomplicating badges.

2. What you sense when you use your lesser sense ability. I don't know if we're currently thinking this can be done all the time, or once every fifteen minutes, or what. If you've already learned all there is to know with your default senses on someone you're now using your lesser senses on, then the use doesn't count.

3. What you sense when you use your greater sense ability. This is probably something you can do no more than once an hour, and possibly only once every four hours, depending on length of game. If you've already learned all there is to know with your lesser and default senses on someone you're now using your greater senses on, then the use doesn't count.

zrealm is looking at this with, or so I imagine, something of the fascination one reserves for traffic accidents. He says either the game will crash mightily on the rock of the senses system or it won't, and we won't know until we test it.
