I Win!

[livejournal.com profile] jlighton ran a session of Feng Shui tonight, ending as the PCs were about to get into combat. The pre-combat was a scene at the death bed of an ancient NPC martial artist, the inscrutable type. [livejournal.com profile] mnemex played his disgraced son. [livejournal.com profile] ebartley played the stealthy kind of martial artist. I played the strong type, not stupid, but not blindingly smart either. jlighton played the npcs, which included the Old Master (the ancient martial artist) and the man who expected to be the Old Master's heir.

He described the heir's description of the journey he and the PCs had made, and and the Old Master asked if the PCs had anything to add. It became clear that the Old Master was judging the favored heir and his son.

My PC tried to explain that his son was acting astonishingly honorably, all things considered. Why, the others had only had to beat him up once!

My PC: Once we beat him up, he saw where his duty lay right away!

jlighton: You win.

Me: What?

jlighton: You just made the master crack his first smile in public in 50 years!

I admit it -- these are the gaming moments I live for.
