Back when the first edition of White Wolf's Dark Ages: Vampire came out, about the only good thing I could find to say about it was that lays-flat binding really is neat. (2nd edition is better, and no one gets my copy of Dark Ages: Fae without they pry it from my cold, undead fingers. But, I digress.)

The thing is, lays-flat binding really is neat. I can put the book down while I eat, and it doesn't flip pages over on its own.

I read two lovely, disturbing supplements for Kult way back when, and I got a migraine reading them. Someone was so busy being Artistic that usability went out the window.

D&D 4th edition will probably never be my game of choice, but I will at least try to read this one. I've only skimmed the Players' Handbook. But already, I find it at least twice as good as 3.x. The incredibly stupid faux notebook look of 3.x has been ditched in favor of a clean. white page with black text. I can actually read this one.
