The Dresden Files game continues apace. I'm still not sure how I feel about the level of the opposition, but the fact that the PCs are still alive and able to make convoluted plans probably means it isn't too powerful.
I think Dave's started to relax about the PCs' own power levels since we pointed out that
mnemex's PC, Peter, went from 9 Fate points to 1 in a single combat -- a combat he lost. And we've cleaned out my PC's stash of "How did I get that many Fate points again?", putting five on getting Dave to agree that if we can actually set up the completely absurd thing we're contemplating, he will let it work (as far as doing what we want it to do -- he said nothing about that having the effect we hope it will have).
Yesterday, I got over to Oscar Rios's home for a fun Call of Cthulhu game. I can't give details on this one, as it's going to be submitted for publication, but it's a very well designed adventure for new PCs and / or new players.
I didn't have a character concept on arrival, despite having had a couple of weeks to come up with one. I've been a bit distracted by other things. I'm not usually a fan of being handed a pre-gen for a campaign, but Oscar had one that just clicked, a woman college student who could have connections to the socialite in the group. A police sketch artist and a jazz musician round the group out. And, Oscar's son made these astonishing Spawn of Cthulhu cupcakes. We all pulled out cameras to take pictures of them.
